Soulwood was founded in 2025 to provide inclusive music education across Hertfordshire. With a team of experienced tutors, we deliver peripatetic lessons, alternative provision, and music aptitude training, each tailored to meet the needs of every student.
Soulwood is an independent arts education service led by three directors- Dave, Flo and Jason. As their college tutor, Dave inspired Flo and Jay with his teaching and guidance, sparking their drive to pursue music. Collectively, the team brings a wealth of experience spanning school teaching, lecturing, and professional work in the music industry.
United by a long-standing friendship and a shared vision, they dreamed of opening their own school. They shared a vision for a space that puts creativity, inclusivity, and student well-being at the heart of arts education. After many conversations about values, mission, and the changes they wanted to see within the education system, that vision became reality in Soulwood Education.
